Metro cop accused of killing Zinhle Muthwa abandons bail application

The family of south coast woman, Zinhle Muthwa say they are relieved and happy that the man accused of her murder will remain in prison.
Ndumiso Khumalo, 30, abandoned his bid for bail in the Umbumbulu Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he made his third appearance.

KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara says the matter was postponed to February for further investigation.
Khumalo allegedly shot and killed 29-year-old Muthwa on New Year's Eve.

It is alleged that the former constable dumped her bruised body at the Ndaya Reserve on the South Coast on New Years Day.
Muthwa's brother, Bongani Muthwa says the family were discouraged after Khumalo's appearance on Monday as they were asked to wait outside the court and missed the accused appearing.
