Merc-driving Woolies looter drops lawyer
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The Durban man dubbed the 'Woolies looter' has fired his lawyer.

Mbuso Moloi made another appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday on charges of theft and public violence.
He was arrested after a video emerged of a man walking out with a basket full of groceries at a Woolworths store in Glenwood that was being looted during the July unrest.
The man is seen loading the goods into his luxury car and driving off.

The vehicle, said to belong to Moloi's father, has been seized by the Asset Forteiture Unit.
The NPA's Natasha Kara says the matter had been previously adjourned for a guilty plea.
"Today in court, he advised the court that he was out of funds and that he was terminating the services of his attorney. He then also advised that court that he would like to engage the services of Legal Aid."
The case has been postponed to the end of the month.
