The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs says plans have been put in place to assist areas on the south coast that have been affected by water shortages recently.
Officials say holiday-makers are expected to flock to the area again this year.
MEC, Sihle Zikala made the comment at the launch of the KZN is Summer campaign at the weekend.
"We are working with the municipality and the district council to ensure that the water disruptions are addressed. There is a long-term plan that entails working around installing new infrastructure. There are short-term plans to ensure that where there are challenges, they intervene immediately," he says.

The Ugu District Municipality said previously vandalism was behind recent water cuts that left residents and businesses fuming.
Officials at the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, which falls under Ugu, says old infrastructure is also to blame.
