Health officials say there are now more than 500 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles in the country since the start of the current outbreak.
Infections have so far been recorded in five provinces; Limpopo, North West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Free State.
National Health spokesperson Foster Mohale says the department is working closely with Social Development and Basic Education to roll out vaccinations in schools.

"Schools have been issuing consent forms to learners so that parents and caregivers can sign to enable health workers to immunise these learners and no learner will be immunised until the parents have given permission through signing these consent forms."
While no cases have been reported in KZN, the Legislature's Portfolio Committee on Health says it will be doing inspections at healthcare facilities here to check if they are prepared for a possible outbreak in the province.
