Police have deployed maximum resources to the scene of a
deadly tavern shooting in Pietermaritzburg's Sweetwaters area.

Four people were killed in the attack.
"The team will be working around the clock to track down and bring to book those responsible for this shooting," says KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala.
Eight patrons were admitted to hospital after Saturday night's attack.
Police say it's understood two men entered the establishment and opened fire - shooting 12 people.
They then drove off in a car. Bullets and 9mm cartridges were found on the scene.

Gwala says the victims were aged between 30 and 45 years.
"Charges of murder and attempted murder are being investigated currently.
"Provincial police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has condemned the shooting and he has deployed members of Crime Intelligence, forensic experts as well as a tactical unit to form part of an investigation team led by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation Unit."
Acting Community Safety MEC Jomo Sibiya says the proliferation of illegal firearms is an issue that needs to be addressed.
"This is a serious concern for us especially since we are dealing with serious issues of crime in the province. We've started a number of programmes to respond to the crime," says his spokesperson Thuba Vilane.
