Matric learner dies after short illness before seeing bachelor pass results

A Midlands family that had been hoping to see off their son to university is instead planning his funeral after the teenager died a day before receiving his matric results.
Ntandoyenkosi Majola, 18, fell ill on the 29th of December, after attending a family gathering in KwaSwayimana near Wartburg.
The Masijabule High School pupil was diagnosed with a Cytomegalovirus infection that was causing his kidneys and liver to fail.

Family spokesperson Thokozane Ngubane says Ntandoyenkosi was a bright young man, who looked forward to his future.
He had been hoping to study law this year.

"He was so excited. As an educator, I always motivate them about studies, and I was speaking to him, he was so positive about his results, you can see he got bachelor for his results, and he won't see those results".
"He was a positive guy and promising. The whole family is very sad and are in pain. We can't even explain the pain we have," he said.
