Matric exam results set to be released on Thursday
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The long wait is soon to be over for hundreds of thousands of past pupils as the matric results for the class of 2022 are set to be released this week.
The Class of '22 sat for their final examinations in October, last year with over 198 000 KZN full and part-time candidates now waiting for the outcome.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga is expected to announce the results on Thursday.
Matriculants will be able to collect results on Friday at the centre at which they sat for their National Senior Certificate examinations.
One hopeful from Newcastle says the wait has been a nerve-wracking experience.
"It's like waiting for a ticking bomb where literally one piece of paper can determine the rest of your life but also if you worked hard enough, you will have that confirmation that your results would be good enough."

Another pupil, who is based in Pietermaritzburg, says there's been additional pressure from those around her.
"As we approach the day of the results I get more nervous by the day, it was the fact that people around me kept reminding me that the results are coming out soon, so that was a lot of pressure, and I ended up being stressed but I know that I did my best."
