Four pistols, one rifle and live rounds of ammunition were seized from the three bodyguards.

The three appeared in the Durban Magistrate's Court today and were released on a warning.

The Hawks say the firearms will be sent for ballistic testing to establish if they were used to commit any crimes.

The guards are from the same security company as the two former bodyguards for ANC eThekwini regional secretary Bheki Ntuli, who were recently shown in a video cocking firearms and threatening violence.

Mandeni's municipal spokesperson, Mdu Manzi says no one has been found guilty yet.

"For now, there is nobody who is guilty, they are still appearing in court. After the process, if the court finds them guilty, we can then start a process. There will be a process to look at the matter and then we will take it forward," he says.
