Man suspected of raping elderly woman, granddaughter arrested
A suspect has been arrested just hours after he allegedly raped a 51-year-old woman and her 7-year-old granddaughter at their Chesterville home, yesterday.
Police's Thembeka Mbele says the suspect was the victims' neighbour.
The suspect went to their house and knocked at the door. Upon answering, he threatened them with a knife.
Mbhele says the alarm was raised by another minor who escaped the ordeal.

A 12-year-old was there but managed to escaped and ran to a neighbour who notified the police.
The suspect fled the scene.
Mbele says police worked tirelessly to trace and arrest the suspect. He will appear in court soon for Double rape.
