Man shot in an apparent Isipingo hijacking

A man was shot in an apparent hijacking in Isipingo on Thursday morning.

He has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Emer-G-Med's Kyle van Reenen says paramedics say the 50-year-old man was shot in the head.
"Several advanced life support interventions were needed to stabilise him before he was placed onto a mechanical ventilator to assist him in breathing."

"The call was then made for the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter to airlift him through to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required.
"The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly."
