Man shot dead in Durban armed robbery

A man has been shot dead during an armed robbery at a bank
north of Durban.
It is understood a gang of robbers stormed the bank in Briardene and held up customers and staff.

Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen says police and private security guards raced to the scene.
“Just after 3pm medics and security guards responded to a bank in Chris Hani Road in the Briardene area north of the city following reports of a shooting an armed robbery,” said Van Reenen.

Van Reenen says first responders found that a man, believed to be around 30 years old, had sustained a gunshot wound to his left chest.
