Man shot and killed at Durban medical practice

Police are investigating a case of murder after a man - thought to be a doctor - was shot dead at his surgery at the Durdoc Medical Centre in the Durban CBD, yesterday.

Two suspects entered the 46-year-old's surgery along Anton Lembede Street - posing as patients at the facility - before opening fire.

Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the victim died at the scene.
"They produced a firearm and shot the victim once in his head. He died instantly, and the two suspects fled the scene thereafter," he said.

The motive for the killing is unknown, and no arrests have yet been made.
Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and assist them with the investigation.
