Boy (16) shot and injured in Pinetown armed robbery

Police in Pinetown are investigating a case of attempted murder and armed robbery - after a 16-year-old boy was shot by two suspects who robbed him of his cell phone.
The boy was shot in the thigh during the robbery on Rose Crescent Road in New Germany, and remains in a serious condition at the Life Westville Hospital.

Police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the victim was accosted by two men.
"Yesterday around 1pm, a 16-year-old boy was walking along Rose Crescent when a white Renault with two occupants stopped and demanded his cell phone. The victim ran to the nearest house, and the suspects produced a firearm and shot him," she said.
No arrests have been made, and police investigations are ongoing.
