Man rescued from fatal flat fire arrested for drug possession
The fire that gutted the apartment in North Beach claimed the life of local doctor, Yusuf Asmal who worked at Addington hospital.
Asmal's body was found in the bathroom of the apartment.
Firefighters rescued a 37-year-old man who is also a doctor on the balcony of the flat.

The police's Nqobile Gwala says the man was found in possession of crystal meth.
"During that incident, a 37-year-old suspect was arrested after he was found in possession of crystal meth. He's appearing today in the Durban Magistrates Court for possession of drugs."
Gwala says an inquest docket has been opened for Asmal.
