Man killed in Umbilo crash

A man has lost his life in a road accident in Durban.
Emergency services say the bakkies crashed in a T-bone collision on Sarnia Road in Umbilo earlier.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says it is not yet known what happened prior to the crash.

Jamieson says medics were unable to save the man.
"One occupant, a single driver of the vehicle was in cardiac arrest. Despite medics attempts to resuscitate him, he passed away at the scene. The second driver sustained minor injuries and was stabilised on scene before being taken to hospital for the further care he required," he said.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
