Man killed during suspected rock-throwing on Higginson Highway

A case of culpable homicide is being investigated after a suspected rock-throwing incident led to the death of a man on Higginson Highway in Durban.
Police responded to the incident between Westcliff and Bayview on Friday and found the wrecked car on an embankment.
They say the driver, Phildon Chetty, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Chatsworth Community Policing Forum chairperson Jakes Singh says the community is up in arms.
"I phone to check in with SAPS to get the information verified, because they say a rock was thrown into the vehicle through the windscreen and the rock struck the driver.
"So the driver lost control and veered off the road and subsequently passed on. Yes, the community was very worried about the incident that happened and everybody wants answers. The community was actually in panic."
Chetty was laid to rest on Sunday.
