Spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says the man - who's been identified as 24-year-old Brady Arumugan - jumped out of the truck and tried to escape the bullets.
"He was shot on the back and left leg. He collapsed and was taken to the Wentworth hospital together with the driver who's 30-years-old and was shot on the arm and lower body.
"The suspects are unknown, but it's known that there were four and they were driving a silver Polo," says Mbele.
Cases of murder and attempted murder are being investigated.
