Man killed, another left critical in South Coast crash

A man has been killed and another is fighting for his life in hospital after their car crashed into the back of a truck on the N2, between Scottburgh and Umkomaas.

Initial reports are that the car slammed into the back of the stationary heavy goods vehicle on the Northbound carriageway.
KZN Emergency Medical Services, Robert Mckenzie says both men had been travelling in the car.

"Sadly, a man has sustained fatal injuries. Paramedics declared him deceased at the scene. Paramedics worked together to treat a man who sustained critical injuries before transporting him to hospital for continued medical care. The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage," he said.
Mckenzie says police are investigating the cause of the crash. No one from the truck was hurt.
