Sebastian Macuacua appeared in court yesterday, facing 18 counts of culpable homicide.

His truck collided with two taxis on the R541 last week. The miners were on their way to work at the time.

The NPA's Monica Nyuswa says Macuacua's court appearance was brief.

"The accused appeared in the Belfast Magistrates Court on 18 counts of culpable homicide. The matter has been postponed to July 14 for bail application," she said.
