Man jailed for killing UKZN student

A young man convicted of murdering a fellow University of KwaZulu-Natal student has begun serving a 12-year prison sentence.
Khayelihle Nzimande was sentenced earlier this month by the Pinetown Regional Court.
The 25-year-old was arrested three years ago near the Westville campus.

He'd emerged from a bush he’d been hiding in, just metres away from where his roommate Samkelo Zondi’s burnt remains were found.
Nzimande had allegedly accused Zondi of witchcraft at the time of his death.
KZN police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkwanazi, has praised investigating officer, saying Sergeant Sibongiseni Ngcobo, exhausted all available avenues to prove Nzimande’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, bringing much-needed closure to Zondi’s family.
