Man dies after vehicle hits steel structure on the M19

There has been a deadly accident on Durban's M19 route near the Reservoir Hills Mountbatten Drive off-ramp, this morning.
A man in his twenties has been killed after his car crashed into a sign post - on the Durban-bound side of the roadway.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says they arrived on scene to find the crumpled remains of the vehicle wrapped around the steel structure.
"The vehicle was severely damaged with the engine being torn out of the vehicle. One man in his twenties was found to be entrapped in the wreckage and paramedics found that he had already unfortunately passed away," he said.
