A man's been killed in what appears to have been a hit and run incident on Durban's M4 Ruth First Highway.

We're told that traffic's come to a standstill on the southbound carriageway near the Glen Ashley bridge.
Metro Police spokesperson Parboo Sewpersad says the man's body is lying on the road.
"Traffic has come to a standstill on the M41 that is past Gateway and Umhlanga offramp. Motorists are requested to use alternate routes. Do not proceed toward Glen Ashley on the M4.

"The scene is still active, all services are on scene. We are waiting for a mortuary van to arrive, but it could take some time."
At the same time, metro officials have been dispersing truck drivers who've protesting in the CBD this morning.
Truckers apparently blockaded Dr Pixley KaSeme Street (West Street) and Julius Nyerere Avenue (Warwick Avenue) earlier.
"Metro police responded immediately and they averted a truck blockade in the CBD. It is alleged from the drivers of the trucks that they were informed to block off the streets this morning, however, metro police is on full alert and we are ready for any action."
