Man in former girlfriend's murder handed 23-year sentence
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A 60-year-old man who stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death in the parking lot of Musgrave Centre in Durban has been sentenced to 23 years behind bars.

The Durban High Court yesterday convicted Sipho Zikhali of Ke Rita Sibisi's murder two years ago.
The judge said she took the brutality of the murder as well as Zikhali's age, and the number of years he has already been in custody into consideration when determining his sentence.
Testifying in aggravation of sentence yesterday, Sibisi's brother Sibusiso says he still has nightmares about seeing her bloodied, lifeless body.
He said Sibisi was an elder in their family and supported many of the children by putting them through school.
While realising they will never see Sibisi smile again, Sibusiso says they hope they will find closure one day.
