A man will appear in court on Friday in connection with the stabbing of a school principal in the south of Durban.
The 48-year-old head of Umkhumbi High School in KwaMakhutha was attacked on Wednesday, allegedly by a former pupil.
Police say the suspect was detained by pupils and teachers and later arrested.
He's facing a charge of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

KZN Education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says they understand the 21-year-old suspect had wanted to re-register for matric at the school.
"We are worried at the rate which learners or people bring weapons to schools and they attack our unexpecting educators.
"We have spoken to provincial management of the police so that we can devise a strategy as to how we can help our schools be safe-guarded."
