Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
A family of a 23-year-old man is in mourning after he drowned at Inanda Dam on Saturday.
What was a day out in the sun at Esikebheni took a tragic turn when the man got into difficulty in the water while swimming with his friends.
Police divers recovered the man's body from a depth of five metres, where he'd become entangled in the dam's vegetation.

"It is alleged that the man was swimming in the dam when he had some difficulties and drowned. The search and rescue team then went out to look for the body and managed to recover the body," SAPS spokesperson Thulani Zwane said.
An inquest docket was opened for investigation at Inanda Police Station.
