Man, dog shot in Northdene home

A man and his dog are recovering in hospital after they were shot and wounded at their home in Northdene, west of Durban.

Paramedics say they were called to the Montgomery Crescent property last night.
Rescue Care spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson says they found a man, believed to be in his 70's, with critical injuries.

He had been shot in the abdomen.
"He was stabilised on scene before to hospital for the urgent care that he required."
"The dog that was trying to protect him had was also shot and was taken care by, then rushed through to the vet where he was treated," he says.
