Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating a case of murder, after a man had been fatally shot in Phoenix last night.

It's alleged he had been dropping off a colleague on Old Cottage road, in Greenbury, north of Durban, when the incident occurred.
The police's Nqobile Gwala says a group of men had approached the deceased, in an attempt to steal his car.
"Four men jumped out of the vehicle. The victim threw the car keys into a bush. The suspect opened fire, wounding the man on the chest and then the suspect took the vehicle and fled the scene. The car was eventually recovered in the KwaMashu area. The victim was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," she says.
