Man dies in pedestrian accident near Ballito

Authorities are investigating the cause of a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian on the KZN north coast.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was struck by a taxi while he was allegedly crossing the busy N2 northbound carriageway near Ballito this morning.
"IPSS Medical Rescue was dispatched to a pedestrian accident on the N2 Northbound lane between the Ballito and Shaka's Rock off-ramp. A taxi coming off the off-ramp and onto the freeway knocked a pedestrian.
"Unfortunately, he sustained fatal injuries," IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst said.

This comes as police are investigating a fatal bus crash that claimed the lives of six people - on the R66 near Melmoth, in northern KZN at the weekend.
