Man dies in Chatsworth botched hijacking

A case of murder is being investigated after a 30-year-old man was killed in an attempted hijacking in Chatsworth.
Along with a family member, he was driving on Silvermont Circle in Moorton when they were approached by four armed men last night.
Spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the driver was shot in the head.
"The suspects allegedly shot and killed this man and he died instantly. The second one managed to escape unharmed. There are no arrests made at this stage and the matter is still under investigation.
"The motive for the killing is unknown although it is believed the suspect wanted to hijack the vehicle," he said.

The suspects fled the scene without stealing the car.
