Updated | By Portia Cele, Lethiwe Mdluli
Paramedics are on scene of a crash involving two trucks on the N3 - heading towards Pinetown - near the Mariannhill Toll Plaza.
One man has been critically injured and placed on a ventilator while two others are being stabilised on scene.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says emergency services worked to free the critically injured man who was trapped in the wreckage.
He was later airlifted to hospital.
"Reports from the scene are that one of the patients was entrapped in the wreckage. One truck overturned in the crash. Traffic is severely affected - there's only one lane and traffic is trickling past the accident scene," Jamieson said.
Ongoing accident recovery on the N3 to Durban before the Marianhill Toll Plaza. The left lane is closed. #KZNTraffic
