It's understood that six-year-old Sandakahle and 14-year-old Asimbonge Manana were kidnapped by a known suspect in the area last week Thursday.

Police say little Sandakahle's body was found the next day.

It's believed that the child had been strangled and had assault injuries.

On Sunday, the body of Manana's older sister was also found.

Police at the time said a man was taken in for questioning but say no arrest has been made yet.

KZN Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza will visit the Manana family on Friday.

Department spokesperson Mhlaba Memela says Khoza will also be visiting the local police station for an update from detectives on the case.

"The perpetrator is still at large, so it is one of the concerns she has. We will be in Ulundi with the MEC where she will be meeting with the family and also lead a team of social workers that will remain with the family until they lay their children to rest."
