Comedian, Andrew Hughes and his passenger were shot and wounded while driving on Landsdowne Road.

A 21-year-old was arrested in the Durban South area on Monday.

Police say he'll face others charges including robbery, malicious damage to property and attempted murder.

Officers are trying to establish if he's linked to other crimes in the area.

Hughes' friend, Daryl William believes the shooting was a case of mistaken identity but has praised the police for the quick arrest.

"To be honest there are just a few leaders, once you take out the leaders, the followers stop.

"It's the instigators and you can get these instigators they (police) can single-handedly root out the entire shooting debacle that is currently happening in Wentworth," he said.

William confirmed that Hughes has been moved to the general ward, and is on the road to recovery.
