Man arrested, fined for holding religious gathering at Isipingo mosque

A KwaZulu-Natal man has been slapped with a R5 000 fine after he was arrested for holding a religious gathering at a mosque in Isipingo, south of Durban.

Provincial police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the 40-year-old man was arrested for contravening the Disaster Management Act on Tuesday night.
'"The suspect was arrested after he was found holding a religious gathering at a mosque at Isipingo.

"He was issued with a fine of R5 000. He will appear in the Amanzimtoti Magistrate’s Court on the 28th of July."
The arrest comes just days after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country would be moved to an adjusted Level four lockdown.
Ramaphosa said no gatherings of any kind would be allowed, except for funerals.
