Man arrested after shooting woman at taxi rank near PMB
Police have arrested a 27-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend at a taxi rank in Wartburg, outside Pietermaritzburg.
The man is accused of approaching the woman and shooting her multiple times yesterday morning. She died at the scene.
"A case of murder was opened by Wartburg police for further investigation. The police managed to arrest a 27-year-old man and he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition," The police's Thulani Zwane said.

Zwane says the boyfriend will appear in the New Hanover Magistrate's Court today and again on Thursday.
"He was charged for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. It's alleged that the woman was killed because she wasinvolved with another taxi owner or taxi driver in the area," Zwane said.
