Malema wants 'total reopening' of South Africa

EFF leader Julius Malema has labelled the continued lockdown and Covid-19 restrictions as senseless and not based on science.

Malema was speaking at a press conference following its national plenum on Tuesday.
"We reiterate our call for the total reopening of our country, particularly the opening of stadiums and public spaces so that people can return to their lives fully,” he said.
Some universities and companies have made it mandatory for students and employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 to be allowed on campuses and in workplaces.
But Malema says the party is opposed to mandatory vaccines.
"We will oppose anyone who seeks to forcefully vaccinate our people. We demand that government must broaden the option of vaccines available and not force people to take vaccines from the worst only.
"Government must make sure that our people must have access to Sinovac which is approved and Sahpra (South African Health Product Regulatory Authority) must finalise the authorisation of Sputnik V and Abdala vaccine from Cuba."
