Malema: Land expropriation created unwarranted hysteria and unjustified panic

EFF leader Julius Malema says the issue of land expropriation has created unwarranted hysteria and unjustified panic.

Speaking during a press conference in Johannesburg earlier today, Malema said that while the public hearings into the proposed amendment of Section 25 of the Constitution have mostly seen heated debates, this should be welcomed as it is an exercise in democracy.

Malema says that some those who are opposed to expropriation without compensation have their own agenda.

He says nay-sayers should take comfort in the fact that there is a consultation process on the land issue.

“That is what they say about us: That we will collapse the economy, that everybody else will go, that we are Zimbabwe,” he says, “But that which we are doing now - I am still to see a person who is going to show us that this was done in Zimbabwe, this what we are doing here”.
