Mail delivery to resume as Post Office strike ends
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Residents will now start receiving mail as SA Post Office employees are returning to work after downing tools earlier this month over pay and working hours.
Trade unions accepted a salary increase of 6.5% across the board this week.
Temporary workers will receive an additional six hours of work per week.

The Post Office's Johan Kruger says 500 permanent positions will also be made available. He says the strike didn't affect the issuing of the new SASSA cards for social grant beneficiaries.
"The backlog is around 20 work days. And this strike has very little effect on the SASSA project because payments are available from supermarkets."
Kruger says beneficiaries get three free transactions per month - at supermarkets.
"They can also withdraw from any ATM. New cards are issued at mobile swop sites and also at SASSA offices," Kruger said.
