New SASSA cards now available in KZN post offices
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
SASSA beneficiaries will be able to collect their new cards from selected KZN post offices from today.

The new cards have been designed to minimise illegal deductions such as airtime purchases, electricity top ups and unwanted loans. Funeral policies on non-child grants, that do not exceed 10% of the amount, are the only deductions that will now be approved.
Beneficiaries will no longer be required to pay a service fee either.
The SA Post Office's Nobuhle Njapha says beneficiaries can view a list of available outlets online.
"The new SASSA card, which is gold in colour will give you 3 swipes at the shops where VISA cards are accepted. These are stores like your Checkers, Boxer and Pic 'n Pay. You also get one free withdrawal at the post office", she said.
"No debit orders can be deducted from this new card. The old SASSA card will expire at the end of September this year", Njapha said.
