Magistrate slams #KessieNair for defamatory remarks
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
A court has criticised Kessie Nair and his submission of an affidavit, in which he labelled those involved in his prosecution 'insane and corrupt'.

Nair, who stands charged with crimen injuria and contravening the Riotous Assemblies Act, was denied bail in the Verulam Magistrate's Court yesterday.
The Durban man called the President the 'K-word' in a Facebook video that has since gone viral. In delivering her ruling, magistrate Ncumisa Gcolotela came down hard on the ex-convict.
The magistrate took umbrage with an affidavit Nair deposed to in response to submissions made by the State, that he was no longer welcome at the address he once called home.

Gcolotela said she had allowed him the opportunity to secure an affidavit from someone who would be willing to accommodate him, and now regretted her decision.
She said he had abused the opportunity and attacked the characters of a number of people.
The nagistrate went so far as to say he was continuing to commit the offence of crimen injuria by defaming these individuals.
