Mabuyakhulu wants corruption case permanently set aside
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
The graft-accused deputy chairperson of the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal - Mike Mabuyakhulu wants the charges against him dropped.

Mabuyakhulu and a number of other politicians, business people and companies were arrested last year and charged in connection with R28-million that was meant to be spent on bringing the North Sea Jazz Festival to the province.
The festival never took place and it’s alleged the accused pocketed the money.
They appeared in Durban’s Specialised Commercial Crime Court today.
The court's today heard that Mabuyakhulu's legal team has now launched an application in terms of Section 34-2(A) of the Criminal Procedure Act.

The application was launched this morning and through it, Mabuyakhulu is seeking a permanent stay of prosecution because of the unreasonable delays in his proceedings.
The case has been adjourned until late April for the application to be heard and then to early May.
