M4 between Sibaya, Umhlanga projected to reopen in April

Motorists could start using the M4 Ruth First Highway again by the end of April.
The road, between Sibaya and Umhlanga, was closed late last year after a portion of the busy route was washed away after two torrential downpours.

Nicole Bollman, the councillor for ward 35, says repair crews are trying to get the Highway reopened by the Freedom Day long weekend.
"So far, as we know, the PVR piping has been laid. There has been a lot of developments in the last couple of days in terms of the fact that the contractor has been awarded the contract, and that the diagrams have been handed to them which means that the show can go on - hoping that there is no major rainfall over the next couple of weeks," she says.
