UPDATE: M4 between Sibaya, Umhlanga to remain closed

The eThekwini Metro Police say the M4 road between Sibaya and Umhlanga will remain closed until further notice.
A part of the road was washed away by the rains earlier on Monday.

Metro police spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says engineers from the Department of Transport have assessed the damaged road.
"We have heard that the engineers from the Department of Transport has made an assessment on the damage, however, the road is unsafe for any cars or any vehicles to operate on that section," he said.
Sewpersad says they are unsure when the roads will reopen.
"We do not know how long we are looking at, but as from the video clips an the photographs that have been sent , it is quite a large wash away," he said.
