"What are would normally do is drive up the road and because her bedroom window faces the road, I use to park in my car and chat to her and wave to her from there."

The Association for the Aged has unveiled its first-ever visitor's pod at the John Dunn House in Wentworth.

The new pod allows elderly people to safely visit with family members without risk of COVID-19 infection to themselves and others. "

"With the pod being there it is much better because now she is in front of me, she is closer to me."

TAFTA is hoping to raise enough money to install more pods in other homes.

The Association will host a drive-in movie night on Saturday.

The fundraising event will be held at the Harlequins Sports Club on the Bluff, south of Durban.
