Ninow is testifying in mitigation of sentence in the North Gauteng High Court on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old confessed to raping the then 7-year-old in a toilet at the Silverton Dros restaurant in 2018.
Ninow says he would have never raped the girl, had he been in a sober state of mind.
He told the court that at the time of the rape he was drugged up and drunk.
He says he was introduced to drugs when he was 13-years-old by his mother.
Ninow told the court that he had penned a poem intended for the child. He read out the poem titled 'A Cold September's Day'.
