Load shedding pumped up to stage 4
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Monday evening's load shedding is being pushed up to stage 4.
Eskom says Unit 2 of the Kusile Power Station, which has recently returned to service, has tripped.
The utility says it expects this unit to slowly load up to full capacity during the night.
The COO Jan Obeholzer had earlier on Monday warned the load shedding could intensify as the system is unstable and unreliable.

"The outlook currently is that we still going to make use of a lot of our emergencies specifically burring a lot of diesel and depending on the extent of how we need to use our emergencies we trust that will now happen nut we may be forced to implement load shedding throughout the day."
eThekwini Municipality remains exempt from load shedding.
