Dis-chem: Additional measures in place following data hack
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Pharmacy retailer Dis-chem says it's put in place additional measures to protect and secure its database systems.
One of the company's third-party service providers was hit by a data hack, which left the personal details of millions of customers exposed.
The full names, emails, and phone numbers of more than 3.5 million people have been exposed to an unauthorised party.
In a statement, Dis-chem says the matter was brought to its attention on 1 May.

It was told that an unauthorised party managed to gain access to the contents of its database.
The retail giant says, for now, there's no indication that customers' personal information's been published or misused.
It's reassured costumers, saying the database that was targeted didn't contain ID numbers, medical, financial, or banking information.
