Livestock theft alert for KZN farmers
Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
KZN Agriculture's urging farmers to be extra vigilant over the holidays.

The department says it has received numerous reports of stock theft. Cattle, goats and sheep are being taken from farms.
Spokesperson, Khaye Nkwanyana says they're working with police and community leaders to boost security on properties in areas including Umkhanyakude, Harry Gwala, Amajuba and Zululand.
"This spike is attributable to this month and this level of stealing livestock - around the festive season. We cannot pin the exact cause and effect. Whether it's because people want to sell it or want to slaughter it," he says.
