SASSA's contract with current service provider, Cash Paymaster Services - comes to an end at the end of this month.

This 65-year-old Umlazi pensioner has told Newswatch that he and his disabled wife have had to make other arrangements just in case.

Meanwhile, Umlazi resident, Thandekile Ntuli, has told Newswatch that through the grant she gets from government - she's been able to put two of her four children through school, with the youngest one in matric this year.

Ntuli says the possibility of her not receiving her grant next month has left her stressed and confused.

"This has never happened before. It's the first time that I find myself in this situation. It hurts because we trust these people and vote them into power but they turn around and do corrupt things - not thinking of us who are at the bottom. I really don't know. Maybe I'll have to work the fields to put food on the table - even though there are no nearby fields," she said.
