LISTEN: Analyst weighs in after Sassa briefing ends badly
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A political analyst feels Social Development Minister, Bathabile Dlamini’s defensiveness and her spokesperson Lumka Oliphant’s rude behaviour shows that they are in a crisis of their own making.

During the briefing, Dlamini blamed the media for the debacle around payment of social grants. There's been growing concern on the issue due to a lack of planning around ensuring 17 million beneficiaries receive their grants on April 1.
Dlamini assured the media in the press conference that everyone will be paid - despite no set contract or clarity on how the grants will be paid at the time.
While, a news report has come through that service provider, Cash Paymaster Services and our SASSA have agreed to the terms of a new two-year contract.
Political analyst, Karima Brown says the Minister's defensive approach to the social grants debacle is worrying.
Dlamini also refused to comment on the resignation of Director General, Zane Dangor. Watch how the Minister reacts to one of the questions posed to her on the social grants debacle.
