LISTEN: Over 30 000 jobs lost in eThekwini's tourism industry

The jobs of more than 30 000 people in eThekwini's tourism industry have been affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
That's according to Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda who says he remains hopeful.
He says visits to KwaZulu-Natal over the Summer months will help revive the sector.

The lingering effects of the lockdown and subsequent restrictions have led to the cancellation of major events and conventions.
Under the regulations gazetted under lockdown level two this week, beaches and public parks were reopened.
Speaking in Umhlanga on Tuesday, Kaunda says the move to down to lockdown Level 2 came at a critical time.
